Born from the merger of several schools and higher-education institutes in 2007, Iba Der thiam University of Thiès contributes to diversifying the supply of higher education in Senegal, the sub-region, and across Africa. While leveraging the economic and cultural strengths of its location, it fulfils the classic missions of teaching and research, with a strong emphasis on technology, professional training, and employability.
Dr. Mamadou Bousso, an associate lecturer at the University of Thiès and an associate professor at Université Laval, is a computer scientist specializing in the modelling of complex systems.
His career has led him to work on interdisciplinary problems alongside economists, agronomists, computer scientists, health professionals, and administrators, in both France and Africa. This immersion in multidisciplinary teams has strengthened his expertise in complex-systems modeling and fostered a strong motivation to carry out academic and research projects, particularly in the field of the semantic web.
He currently heads the master’s program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and supervises several research projects in AI applied to health.
