The Centre de Recherches Médicales de Lambaréné (CERMEL), located in the city of Lambaréné, Gabon, is a leading research and training center in the West/Central African region with expertise in fields such as: in malaria, tuberculosis, bacteria and helminth research. Over the years, the Centre has extended its capacities through internationally funded research programs. CERMEL is an international medical research hub with more than 200 international staff. The Centre actively participates in health and research policy discussions and advocacy at the national and regional level. It receives substantial support from the Gabonese government as attested by the donation of its campus with modern infrastructures. The Biomedicine and social sciences research group at CERMEL is led by Prof. AGNANDJI Selidji Todagbe. The group has an extensive experience in running field studies and clinical trials.
Dani Nzinga Loko is a Data Manager based at CERMEL. He holds a degree in computer science and has solid experience in managing clinical and epidemiological data. He is passionate about digital innovation in healthcare and is actively involved in improving information systems for medical research.
Anthony Mintsa is the Head of the IT Department at CERMEL, from 2018, starting as a System Administrator and Data Manager. In his current role, he leads a fantastic team focused on providing reliable and innovative technology solutions that support their critical work.
He is deeply fascinated by the power of Artificial Intelligence and is constantly exploring how they can integrate AI and machine learning to better manage data, uncover new insights, and streamline operations for the future.
Dr. Éléonne Moukiti Mbongo is a research physician at the Lambaréné Medical Research Centre (CERMEL) in Gabon. She has extensive experience in clinical research, particularly in the field of infectious diseases and clinical trials.
She holds a doctorate in medicine from the University of Health Sciences in Libreville and has coordinated several research projects in partnership with African and European institutions.
As part of the AFRICAI-RI project, she contributes to the implementation of clinical and data collection activities.
Passionate about local capacity building, she is committed to promoting rigorous, ethical and collaborative scientific research in Africa.
Ferdie Chryssie Mihindou Gnoundou is a Project Coordinator at CERMEL since November 2021. She strives to bridge the gap between project vision and tangible results by ensuring clear communication and meticulous organization onsite. As a strategic point of contact between operational teams and support departments, she ensures the smooth running of activities and compliance with deliverables. Success driven and passionate about fostering collaborative environments, she is committed to contributing to her team success by handling the logistical and operational details that drive project efficiency and excellence.
